Sheila Reaches The Final

Sheila Reaches The Final

In true Olympic speak Sheila Clyne from Burnfoot Community School, Hawick, in the Scottish Borders has made it through to the final. No Olympic medal at stake but Sheila will compete to become the UK Big School Bake Off Champion, following two live heats at this year’s LACA Main Event in Birmingham.

Sheila’s bake off success was an inspired Apple Sauce Cake, lightly spiced with 50% of the cake consisting of apple!

The regional semi-finalists prepared their bakes under the watchful eyes of the judging panel, including TV Bake Off winner Jo Wheatley.

At the end of the session the judges sampled each of the creations. The panel looked for taste, creativity, visual appeal and compliance for school menus.

The final takes place on Tuesday 27 September 2016 at the Unilever Food Solutions Chefmanship Centre in Leatherhead, Surrey.

2016 sees the introduction of the Scottish Big Bake Off again sponsored by Unilever in Partnership with ASSIST FM as we seek for the best complaint school baker in Scotland.
