The ASSIST Scottish School Cook of The Year Competition.

The ASSIST Scottish School Cook of The Year Competition.

The ASSIST Scottish School Cook of The Year competition has been running for 5 years!
Chief Judge over the 5 years has been Joe Queen, who stated  ‘I have judged many competitions but the standard of this competition has been absolutely fantastic. Not only do all the competitors have superb work practices but their skills for creating such great tasting food on such a tight budget is testament to the skills that exist in many Scottish schools around the country. It is something to be really proud of.’
The Scottish School Cook of The Year competition is open to all catering staff employed by the 32 Scottish Local authorities. The 2017 competition will be launched soon but here are our five winners since 2012:
2016 – Maria Millar of East Lothian
2015 – Helene Roebuck of Stirling Council
2014 – Kim Watts of Scottish Borders Council
2013 – Nikki McNaught of East Ayrshire Council
2012 – Norrie Scott of Tayside Contracts
